England have been dismal
its evident
so i was thinking
what could make them improve their role

1) Pray Peter Crouch stays healthy and fit and let him start

even if he doesn't score
or doesn't have a very powerful shot (that bloody volley in front of goal against MAN U!!!!!)
he gives his team mates the ariel assistance
from which they can get nice lay offs
and a fluent flow of attack

2) Bring back David Beckham

even if its just to aid in the qualification for Euro 08
he brings in the leadership quality that is obviously absent from the current squad
i'm not saying John Terry is a bad captain
he's proved himself at Chealsea
but i still think Steven Gerrard would definitely be a more vocal and inspiring captain (this has nth to do with the fact that i'm a Liverpool fan) =)
they currently also lack the set piece specials that Beckham used to deliver
just imagine Beckham taking an inswinging corner towards Crouch
he tries to head it goalwards, but fails
the defence clears miserably
Rooney/Gerrard smashes the ball into the back of the net

so the team that i think would be able to actually challenge for the EURO 08...

in the office now
the work is starting to pile up
got 2 programming projects
my daily tasks to complete
my fortnightly report to complete
have to find and install the software i need to use for my fortnightly report

and i've got a slight headache
somehow i think i've got this problem
as in health problem
not very sure
i'll pay close attn to it

so friday is zouk right?
if you all cancel i'll burn down allur houses ah
i promise

i miss you.

I've just finished my 3rd week of attachment
its been great
i really feel like I'm one of the employees there
it seems fun actually, to work there

I've got a new best friend
and its the Macdonald Cappuccino (is that how u spell it)
wait i go check
...
ok my new best friend is Cappuccino
oh add one packet of brown sugar to it
and its like perfect
I'm not a coffee person
but one day i bought breakfast
and upgraded to the cappucino cos i was damn sleepy
so i added one packet of normal sugar and it was not bad
then she told me to try brown sugar and the next day i did
oh my god
it really wasn't so coffee taste ah
perfect
tomorrow i shall have more!!

in the office now
the request system is down
which simply means i cant view my tasks
which equals to i cant do my work
therefore i'm here

although the IS team is very capable of fixing the prob asap
for now i shall just relax
today i was the earliest of my dept
mainly because the lady who is usually the earliest
when for a meeting at TT
but still i was earlier than all the other ppl
i'm so proud of myself

this is the 3rd week
and i'm getting confident of what i'm doing
although i still dunno alot of things
i'm willing to learn
hopefully they will recall me.

the first week of my attachment is over
all my fears of the stories i heard of attachments
vanished within the first day of the week
the staff at the infocomm systems department of ascott are very nice people
although the workload is immense and the stress is evident
they always seem to be laughing and smiling and sharing jokes
i'm very glad that i was chosen to be attached to ascott
as it has a wonderful environment to work in

the department is divided into infrastructure and system admin
interestingly all the staff of infra are males
and all staff of system admin are females
but i'm in system admin
interesting
my reporting officer is chang pei ling
she's a damn nice person
she assigns me with the work i have to do
and sort of looks after me
the other person who i first started to talk to was cassandra
who really doesn't look her age
enough said about that

ascott as some systems
after 1 week i have learnt how to create, edit or delete accounts
in the hotel information system (HIS) and employee information portal (EIP)
at first it was quite confusing
but after a day or 2 i was more confident and able to finish my tasks somewhat independently

another interesting thing is that
in the first week the IS dept shifted from temasek tower to liang court
temasek tower was nice cos the whole office was very well done and high class
but we were in cubicles so it was quite cool
in liang court we're in this room that used to be a training room
so when we report for work its like we're entering a classroom
but it is good cos we can just shout across the room

a lucky thing is that i started work on monday
and on tuesday, because of CNY, there was a company lunch for the finance and IS dept
so i had a 8 course lunch at a teo chew restaurant near temasek tower
on tuesday the employees of ascott all got bonuses, except me of cos
so on wednesday peiling treated me and 2 colleagues to a japanese restaurant
the food there was really nice
then on thursday, after moving to liang court
we went for another CNY lunch, this time at spring court
another 8 course, and this time it was better than the one on tuesday

the hours dun really feel very long
the attachment will get tougher
but i think i should be able to handle it
besides
1 week down only 24 weeks to go!
